Johanna Shores' Royal Court is crowned by St. Paul Winter Carnival Royalty
- Posted on February 3, 2017
Eight residents who live at The Gables care center were crowned as the Royal Court of the Johanna Shores Winter Carnival. Johanna Shores is a Presbyterian Homes & Services community located in Arden Hills, MN. This is the 12th year the event has run concurrently with the Saint Paul Winter Carnival. The community celebrated the occasion in a highly anticipated ceremony of coronation.
Members of the 2016 Saint Paul Winter Carnival Royal Family visited Johanna Shores on Tuesday, January 24 to lead the ceremony. The four men and four women were elected by the families, residents and staff at Johanna Shores because of their special impact on their community. Of the residents nominated, one has a history of royalty! Crystal (Johnson) Cardinal previously reigned as Princess of the Saint Paul Winter Carnival in 1949 (pictured below).
Two residents were elected from each floor of the care center. Each was specially knighted Prince or Princess of a particular activity that they enhance in the community. The Royal Family shared the rich history surrounding the Saint Paul Winter Carnival, marking the twelfth year of tradition at Johanna Shores.
