Construction begins for senior apartments at Maranatha - Reservations now open!

A new senior apartment building is under construction at Maranatha, a Presbyterian Homes & Services senior living community located at 5401 69th Avenue North in Brooklyn Center. Reservations are being accepted for senior apartments with an anticipated move-in by fall 2017.

The 56.5 thousand square foot addition will add 34 senior apartments to Maranatha. Apartment sizes range from 662 to 1,126 square feet in 1 bedroom, 1 bedroom plus den, and 2 bedroom floor plans. The plan includes 3,700 square feet of common area known as the Town Center featuring a bistro, library, social space and additional administrative offices. The new building will be connected to the existing assisted living apartments and chapel. Construction is expected to take 10 months to complete.

The project marks the completion of a master plan approved in 2012 by the city of Brooklyn Center and offers the North Metro area more choices for senior housing in a thoughtfully designed, comfortable and beautiful setting. The addition of senior apartments provides an independent living component to the Maranatha campus, which currently offers assisted living apartments and a skilled nursing care center that includes memory care. This “continuum of care” accommodates smooth transitions across living options for residents, meeting their housing and care needs while minimizing disruption to their daily lives.

Senior Housing Partners, the project development team of PHS, is overseeing the project, including planning, construction, start-up operation and marketing. The $7.3M project is designed by Pope Architects, based in St. Paul, MN. The general contractor is Frana Companies, Hopkins, MN.

Owned and managed by Presbyterian Homes & Services, Maranatha stands on a rich and dedicated history of service and care for older adults. For more information or to inquire about reservations, visit
