presbyterian homes and services

Tucked away near the shores of Wilkinson Lake, sheltered by acres of lush parkland, is Waverly Gardens, a community that reflects the strength and tradition of its founder, Presbyterian Homes & Services. This is a community of regional renown that is nothing less than exceptional…

This extraordinary senior campus opened February 2006 and features a continuum of care consisting of 84 senior living, 44 assisted living and 12 memory care apartments as well as 35 care center suites. Currently the community is home to well over 150 older adults.

Perfect Location This quiet sanctuary is an intimate community surrounded by nature and built with an unmistakable reverence for history. While taking in the inherent beauty of the surroundings, a closer look reveals that Waverly Gardens is located within minutes of major thoroughfares, providing convenient access to shopping, downtown St. Paul and Minneapolis, medical clinics, places of worship, local attractions and golf courses.

Developing Phase II The next phase of Waverly Gardens includes Mews, additional assisted living apartments, care center suites, and Caring Companions senior apartments, all scheduled to open fall 2008.
  • The Mews residence was inspired by the elite Mews of London. This eclectic two-story residence will include three buildings. Rich details, subtle accents and ingenious design blend together, making the Mews true homes of distinction. The impressively spacious floor plans exude elegance from every angle and can be customized to compliment each individual’s unique style. The homes range from 1,000 to 1,700 square feet. Underground parking and an elevator provide added ease and convenience.

  • The main building’s expansion will include 17 additional assisted living apartments on the first floor. Warm interior styling and thoughtful design elements make each assisted living apartment a gracious haven, where individuals are free to set their own daily agenda and activities, backed by the confidence in knowing support services are available 24 hours a day.

  • The skilled care center, on the garden level, will serve approximately 20-24 more seniors, with a focus on private rooms and suites to accommodate couples. The twenty personal suites will offer tea kitchens and spacious private baths.

  • There is now an option to support caregivers who are caring for a loved one with memory loss. Caring Companions senior apartments is an innovative program, which is the first of it’s kind. The partner with memory loss receives support through quality programs as well as access, 24-hours a day, to memory care trained staff. For the caregiver, it offers the continued companionship of their loved one while providing personal time to pursue their own care and social needs. It’s all about companions caring for and about each other.

Distinctive Programs
  • The Village Square, the focal point for the community, features a movie theater, conservatory, café, bank, market and complete fitness center with a warm water lap and exercise swimming pool.

  • Personally Designed Living is a new approach to life in any setting. At its best, it makes a better life accessible to all who choose to participate, as they exercise their freedom to decide what their best day includes, every day. Seniors can seek to discover the most pleasing ways to orchestrate the day.

  • Wings wellness program allows each person to participate according to personal preference in water aerobics classes, walking club, massage therapy, exercise classes or even yoga and Pilates.

  • Culinary options allow for preferences ranging from vegan or organic diets to a delightful choice of caribou coffee beverages. Or, if preferred, convenient take out or perhaps
    room service.

  • DOVE is our professional training and expertise in the area of dementia and includes dementia orientation and values education for our staff.

  • End of life expertise, including hospice care, respite care and chaplaincy.

  • Cultural opportunities ranging from orchestra, theatre, art and museums to our resident book club, current issues meetings and speakers.
