All
charitable gifts are meaningful, but certain gifts can have added
significance for you and for Presbyterian Homes. These gifts are
often called planned gifts, but they also are known as deferred
or estate gifts. People of any income or estate size can express
important values by including Presbyterian Homes or other organizations
in their estate plans.
Several
planned gift options are available.
Bequests A
bequest can be outlined in a will or added to an existing will
as a codicil. It can be a specific dollar amount, a percentage
of an estate, or the residue of an estate.
Your
bequest can be expressed in the following words: I give to Presbyterian Homes & Services, Inc., 2845 Hamline Avenue North, Roseville, MN 55113, _________ percent of my estate, or the sum of _____________ dollars, or a specific piece of property (include description of securities or property).

Charitable
Gift Annuities Presbyterian Homes Foundation
is pleased to provide charitable gift annuities as a flexible
and useful planned giving option. Charitable gift annuities are
irrevocable gifts, where in exchange for a gift of stock or cash
income is paid to you for your lifetime. The annuity payments
are based on the gift amount and your age. A portion of each payment
is usually tax-free.

Beneficiary
Designations One
of the simplest ways to make a significant gift in the future
is to name Presbyterian Homes to receive all or a portion of an
insurance policy or retirement account. Your insurance agent or
retirement account administrator can assist you with the proper
designation forms.

Charitable
Remainder Trusts Charitable
remainder trusts are irrevocable trusts that provide you with
payments for your lifetime, or a set term of years. These payments
can be made to you or one or more income recipients you name.
After your lifetime, the remaining trust assets become available
for Presbyterian Homes' work, according to your wishes.

Life
Estate If
you own your home, farm, or vacation home, you may be able to
give the property, obtain an immediate income tax deduction, and
continue using the property as long as you wish. Give the property
to Presbyterian Homes but retain the right to use it for your
life. You can continue living in your home or working your farm,
just as before. After your death, Presbyterian Homes will assume
the ownership rights to the property.

All
gifts to Presbyterian Homes are important. Any gift, whether immediate
or deferred, can have special significance by being given in memory
or in honor of a friend, loved one, or favorite staff member.

At the Presbyterian
Homes Foundation, we always are honored to welcome new members
to the Triangle of Caring Friends, our recognition society
for donors who make any type of planned or estate gift. Through
the Triangle of Caring Friends, Presbyterian Homes recognizes
donors who understand that we begin meeting tomorrow's needs
today by making estate gifts.
|
To
recognize Presbyterian Homes' donors, we list all people who have
made gifts, whether deferred or immediate, in our Annual Report.
With any gift, we will honor a donor's request to remain anonymous
so that his or her name is not listed in any publication.
This
material is not intended to address all issues related to charitable
giving. When considering charitable giving, you should talk with
your tax, legal, or financial advisor. The Presbyterian Homes Foundation
does not render legal, tax, or other professional advisory services.
As charitable vehicles, charitable gift annuities and charitable
remainder trusts should not be treated as, and are not intended
to compete with, investments made for private gain.

No
matter what tax advantages or savings could be available through
your gift arrangement, the greatest advantage of your gift
has to be this: your personal satisfaction in assuring the
future vitality of Presbyterian Homes and its mission.
