Our Mission

To honor God by enriching the lives and touching the hearts of the children in our care.

Our Vision

To provide quality care and early childhood education in a safe and nurturing environment.

Intergenerational Philosophy

We offer a unique program that brings multiple generations together in a stimulating co-learning environment. As children and older adults share memories, play games, sing songs and create together, an unmistakable bond forms that transcends generations.

Play Based Philosophy - Playing to Learn/Learning to Play

Koala Bear Child Care's philosophy is learning through play and exploration. High quality early childhood programs teach children to think creatively so they may succeed in a complex and ever-changing world. Puposeful play is developmentally appropriate and a significant element of any early childhood program. We emphasize the importance of play in a child's intellectual, social, emotional and physical development.

Play is a way of learning for children. During a typical day, there will be structured and unstructured periods, enabling children to learn through play at their own rate.

Our History

Koala Bear Child Care has been caring for children since 1988. Through the years we have enhanced the value of our intergenerational program for children, residents, and staff.

Koala Bear Child Care is licensed by the State of Minnesota Human Services Department. We meet and strive to exceed the standards set by the Division of Licensing.

Our Staff

The Koala Bear Day Care Staff are employed by Lake Minnetonka Shores and are valued members of the community team. Each staff person is educated, experienced and skilled to work with children as well as relate to people of all ages. All teachers are background checked, trained in CPR, first aid, and receive in-service training in early childhood education and other relevant subjects throughout the year.
