For almost a decade, Harmony River Living Center, located in Hutchinson MN, has been considered part of the PHS family of communities. Now, the “adoption” will become official! Hutchinson Health announced that Presbyterian Homes & Services (PHS) will assume ownership of Harmony River effective August 1, 2018. The ownership change also includes the purchase of 40 acres of adjacent land for possible future expansion.
Harmony River, with 120 care center suites and 18 assisted living apartments, was developed by Hutchinson Health and PHS and opened in in 2012. The new senior living community replaced Burns Manor Care Center, which had served the community since 1965. PHS has been managing operations since the redevelopment.
A seamless transition
“This transition is a natural evolution of senior services in our community” said Dr. Steve Mulder, President of Hutchinson Health. “Presbyterian Homes has been a valued partner for the past ten plus years, beginning with the earliest planning for Harmony River. With their demonstrated commitment to the community they are in the best position to continue the operation of Harmony River and exploration of expansion of senior services on that site.”
Dan Lindh, President of Presbyterian Homes & Services added, “We have been blessed to be a part of the Hutchinson community and look forward to continuing and strengthening ties with Hutchinson Health, Ridgewater College, area churches, and other community partners who continue with us in ministry. While this is a transition of physical property and a truly beautiful community, we are most honored to carry on the legacy of service that Harmony River is known for.”
Harmony River staff are already employees of PHS, so this will make for a seamless transition of ownership without disruption to operations. Residents, family members, and guests likely will notice few, if any changes beyond the building signage and brand elements.
