This month’s Kind Regards post highlights Registered Nurse Linda Leibel and the gift of compassion she shared with a family member in need at Waverly Gardens in North Oaks, MN.
I want to honor Registered Nurse Linda Leibel as a Shining Star because she makes the effort to care not only for the residents, but their families. From the moment my dad moved into the Hearth, Linda took extra time to get to know him, his background, and things about his family and close friends. I know she shared my desire to honor my dad's dignity whenever possible. She was always my true partner in that regard.
I have particular gratitude for the day she was able to still the world, which had started spinning as my dad was in the dying process, and sit down with me. She let me ramble about something I no longer remember, but desperately needed to say, and she held my hand. In that moment, I knew I was not alone.
I will remember that gesture forever. My dad would have been grateful to know I had such a kind person at my side.
Thank you by way of one golden star pin, representing a constellation worth of gratitude for all you and the Hearth team did for my dad and for my family.
Kind Regards is a regular feature that shares the letters, hand written cards and emails we receive from those we serve. Beyond expressing appreciation, these letters remind us how important and needed our ministry is and inspire us to offer our best.
