Yolanda Demars is an outstanding example of a caregiver, which is why she received the 2020 CROSS Award for Operational Integrity. Yolanda, who serves as a Resident Assistant at Johanna Shores, has worked for Presbyterian Homes & Services for 11 years. She says that what she loves most about her job is getting to know the residents. Yolanda has made her mark in so many ways.
Here are a few touching stories shared by those who nominated her for the Operational Integrity CROSS award at PHS:
“Yolanda’s personality shines through as she personalizes her care for each resident. She is always going above and beyond. We recently had a resident pass away in our care center. Yolanda went after work hours to sit with the daughter as this resident was actively passing. Yolanda explained the passing process so that the daughter would not be afraid.”
“She communicates openly and honestly with residents, staff and our management team and is not afraid to bring ideas/concerns forward for the better of our community and Residents.”
“Yolanda demonstrates operational integrity by stepping up and helping when needed and being an example for other staff. She does these things because she knows it's the right thing to do.”
