A steady stream of residents is being welcomed and settling into their new apartment homes at Towner Crest, which opened the doors on January 2, 2020. Located at 1205 E Lisbon Road and adjacent the Oconomowoc Golf Club, Towner Crest is the fifth and newest senior living community of Presbyterian Homes of Wisconsin (PHW), the eastern Wisconsin affiliate of Presbyterian Homes & Services (PHS).
Dannene Hirsch, Towner Crest Housing Advisor observed, “The community is coming alive with residents moving in and getting to know each other. We are fostering an enthusiastic, welcoming atmosphere to ensure they feel at home.” Hirsch added that over 75 residents have already reserved or moved into the senior living apartments. Reservations are being accepted for the remaining one- and two-bedroom apartments, many with sunrooms. Reservations are also open for the assisted living and memory care apartments that are under construction and anticipated to be ready for occupancy soon.
The senior living community is named in honor of The Rev. Margaret E. Towner who, in 1956, was the first woman to be ordained as a pastor in the Presbyterian Church, USA. Towner served as a co-pastor of Kettle Moraine Presbyterian Church in the Presbytery of Milwaukee from 1973 to her retirement in 1990 to Sarasota, FL.
Towner Crest offers a sophisticated lodge-style architectural design with vast windows and modern rustic interior spaces to provide a high-quality living experience with a wide variety of amenities and services. At the heart of the community is a multilevel Town Center offering everyday conveniences including restaurant-style dining, a bistro, style salon, library, parlor, club lounge, movie theater, chapel, market, wellness center and other amenities to enhance community life. Underground heated parking is also available to residents.
Situated atop a beautiful hillcrest, Towner Crest captures majestic views of the adjacent mature pine forest. Outdoor water features, prairie plantings, gardens and a beautiful outdoor terrace with fire pit give residents a lodge retreat experience while benefiting from the convenience of nearby downtown Oconomowoc.
Residents of the senior community are served by professional, dedicated staff members who uphold the standard of excellence that is the signature of PHS. The developer for the project is Senior Housing Partners, the development arm of PHS. Towner Crest is designed by Insite Architects of Minneapolis, MN. The general contractor is VJS Construction of Pewaukee, WI and financing is secured through Northland Security of Minneapolis, MN.
