Presbyterian Homes & Services (PHS) announces that “Marvella” will be the name of its future senior living community that is part of the highly visible Highland Bridge master development on the former Ford Motors site in Saint Paul. MN. Marvella will be the 4th PHS community in St. Paul.

The name, Marvella, is a play on the word marvelous. Marvella is a proper name with Spanish and Latin roots, meaning a miracle to marvel at: wonderful, extraordinary. “Marvelous, wonderful and extraordinary are all words to describe the PHS lifestyle – and our dynamic new PHS community coming to the Highland Park neighborhood!” said Deniz Stanton, Regional Marketing Manager with Senior Housing Partners (SHP), the project development arm of PHS.

With a “virtual” groundbreaking held on June 10, 2021, PHS is bringing to life this beautiful new senior living community designed to complement the visionary master plan for Highland Bridge. The general contractor is Ryan Construction, a division of Ryan Companies, which is the master developer of Highland Bridge.

Watch the virtual groundbreaking here:

Located in the heart of the Highland Bridge neighborhood, Marvella will include two buildings on Blocks 6 and 7, connected by a pedestrian walkway. This situates it conveniently within walking distance to retail, parks, walking paths along the Mississippi River, medical clinics and more. Ryan Architects, also a division of Ryan Companies, describe the building design as, “A timeless blend of stone, brick and stucco that nods to the historic character of St. Paul and conveys strength and permanence.”

Marvella will offer its residents a variety of housing options and care services that includes senior apartments, assisted living and memory care. Together, these living options, all within one senior living community, accommodate smooth transitions as the care needs of residents change, minimizing disruption to their daily lives. Design plans include features that give residents the opportunity for a vibrant lifestyle such as a pool, wellness center, chapel and dining options. Nearby are many opportunities to enjoy life at its best: all within easy access to the many amenities that the city of St Paul offers, such as the arts, nature, museums, spiritual growth, shopping, medical facilities and more.

Marvella will solidify Presbyterian Homes & Services’ presence in the community as a place of good health, vitality and well-being for seniors while being part of a non-profit, Christian based organization that accepts all faiths. “We are pleased to be able to continue to serve Highland Park, and the greater Twin Cities, by delivering a senior living community that will allow residents to live well in a uniquely walkable and highly programmed master planned mixed-use development,” said Jon Fletcher, Vice President of Senior Housing Partners.

PHS will be opening an information office in the Highland Park neighborhood in September 2021. For more information or to be placed on the interest list for Marvella, contact Deniz Stanton, Regional Marketing Manager at (651) 631-6300 or email [email protected]. Visit
