We invite you to take a peek inside our weekly Light for the Way devotional series provided for staff.

“Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations.”

Psalm 100:4b-5, NASB

As we give thanks this Thanksgiving season, I want to remember those who have gone before us. In life and in the sharing of the gospel message, many have been like the Apostle Paul and the early church in the Book of Acts.

With a dramatically changed life, Paul went forth by helping others know about the Lord. God encouraged him along the way and instructed him what to do. The early church supported him financially and in prayer and encouragement.

The hardships that Paul went through and his faithfulness to his calling remind me of others who have gone before us — expanding the kingdom with God’s help. I am amazed to think of how the good news reached our lives.

From Ephesians 2:19-20 we read: “So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone.”

So as we give thanks to God, let us also give thanks for those who planted the good news and good things in our lives. Let’s remember the people of Presbyterian Homes who have made a difference and paved the way too. They have contributed by their prayers, financial giving and specialized training. They have created environments and an organization that we can all feel proud to be part of.

Let us pray for them and give thanks.
